Frequently Asked Questions

What menus are available?

We have a lunch and dinner menu prepared fresh every day. On Sundays at lunch time we offer a menu that includes roast dinner options. We also have a daily specials menu that is available every lunch and dinner service and appears on the blackboard in the pub. Our menus are constantly evolving to reflect the seasons along with local supply and so change daily. If you want to know what’s being served around the time of your visit just give us a call.  The team know where everything on the menu came from, so feel free to ask them any questions you might have. Everything we serve is based around quality local produce either reared or grown sustainably.

Can you cater for food allergies and other dietary requirements?

We are used to dealing all kinds of allergies and dietary requirements but please let us know in advance and we will do our best to tailor a menu to suit them. Please be aware that on very rare occasions we might not be able to accommodate very severe dietary restrictions.

Are children welcome at The Lazy Toad?

Yes, accompanied children are welcome and we like to make sure they are comfortable so please mention there are children in your party when booking online or on the phone. We have high chairs too should they be needed. Regrettably there is not a lot of space inside the pub so we would ask that you please leave large pushchairs and buggies in your car and only bring small car seats into the pub if needed.

Is The Lazy Toad open on a Sunday and When are you Closed?

Yes. Sunday Lunch is a local favourite.  We offer a special Sunday roast menu and take reservations for lunch from 12-2.30pm and close at 4pm. We are closed all day Mondays except Bank Holidays where we usually take the Tuesday off following the holiday.

Is there public transport to the pub?

Unfortunately due to our rural location, there is no public transport to the area. You will need to either drive or arrange a taxi. We would advise that if you are booking a taxi to come to us, you also pre-book your return journey as taxi companies are sometimes reluctant to come to us at short notice.

Can I bring a birthday cake or can The Lazy Toad provide a cake?

Yes, you are more than welcome to bring a birthday cake, which we will serve after your dessert course with coffee. Please note that if less than half of your party order dessert we will have to charge a small fee to serve the cake. We can also make your birthday cake ourselves, give us a call and we can prepare one for you with enough notice.

 Can I bring my dog?

Dogs are welcome, but only in the bar area. Please mention when booking that you are bringing a dog and we will do our best to ensure you are on a table with adequate room for them.

 Do you have disabled facilities?

We do have disabled access to both the bar area and the restaurant. We have a disabled toilet in the bar area on the ground floor.

Can I eat in the garden?

If you wish to make a reservation it must be for a table inside, just in case the unpredictable British weather turns out to be unsuitable. However, if the weather is nice it is often possible to move your reservation outside if the weather turns out to be nice. Please be aware that even though there may be tables available in the garden, we may not be able to accommodate your party for food without a reservation if we are fully booked inside.

 Is there parking?

We have our own car park to the rear of the building. If we are particularly busy and this is full, you are welcome to park on the road coming into the village. If you are planning to drive to us and then get a taxi home, you are welcome to leave your car in our car park overnight, but we do ask that you collect it by 11am the next day.
